Our Process

Visit Us

Call to set up an appointment to visit our Design Studio and begin the discussion of your project. There is no charge for this “getting to know each other” part of the process. At this time, we will review your space, plans and goals for the project and learn about your lifestyle. We encourage you to bring photos, links and likes so we can bring your specific tastes to the forefront. We will educate you on the most current and the most timeless design trends. We will highlight our cabinetry and present you with door styles while sharing ideas on colors and finishes. Most importantly we will show you how a full-scale designer kitchen should function and flow.

Consultation Phase

We come to your home and field measure or review your architect’s plans in great detail when it is new construction. We will further discuss your needs and wishes while viewing the site and preparing a profile for a preliminary design concept drawing. This phase requires a $750 Consultation Deposit which will get credited to the $3500 Design Retainer when the Design Phase begins.

Design Phase

A conceptual design layout or floor plan as well as a preliminary cost estimate will be presented to you to begin the Design Phase and help you visualize your space. Perspectives or a 3D rendering will show you just what your new kitchen will look like. By this time, you will have a good idea what Nancy Scott Kitchen Interiors offer for you. The next step in keeping the design process moving forward would require a Design Retainer in the amount of $3500. The $750 credit from the Consultation Deposit would now be applied. The Design Retainer will be credited toward the purchase price of your cabinets once we are under contract and the final payment is due. The Design Retainer allows for design revisions and repricing that will move us to Contract. The Design Retainer is nonrefundable and will be considered compensation for services rendered in the event that we do not go under contract.

Contract Phase

The Contract Phase begins with the First Installment payment which provides you with a copy of the plans and drawings and allows us to place the order. The First Installment can range from 50% to 65% of the contracted purchase price per the requirements of the cabinetry manufacturer, the size and scope of the project and of course our time. Cabinets will be delivered to your home depending on factory production schedules and what cabinetry you select. Delivery times can range from 6 to 14 weeks. One week prior to delivery the final installment payment is required and the $3500 credit from the Design Retainer is applied at that time.

Total Satisfaction

After your project is complete, we will do a final walk through and create a punch list if necessary, to ensure your total satisfaction. Nancy Scott Kitchen Interiors will be with you every step of the way to ensure a positive experience and a room that you will love for years to come.

***This web page is an outline of our process. Each phase of the process has a signed agreement that details your specific project. The Consultation Deposit and the Design Retainer are nonrefundable but will be credited to the contract price for the cabinetry. In the event that a contract is not signed both deposits are considered payment for services rendered. When under contract both deposits ($3500) are credited toward the final payment.
